Help Wanted – Legal Clerk Typist (part time)

The Town of Batavia is seeking a part-time Legal Clerk-typist. The Legal Clerk-typist
assists the Town Attorney with clerical work involving responsibilities of preparing a variety of
legal papers under general supervision. A complete job description, education requirements and

Experience with modern office practices including knowledge of legal terminology;
documents and legal office procedures; good organizational skills; filing ability to initiate and
maintain clerical records; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability
to effectively use Microsoft applications including office, excel, outlook calendar and e-mail. A
substantial part of the time is spent typing and transcribing information from dictating
equipment. The work requires a good knowledge of legal papers, legal documents and legal
terminology. The salary for this position will be based on experience.
